Towards the end of my service in the military, I tried to buy a comb from the canteen to count down days until end of service. Unfortunately they had none left, so I decided to have a little bit of fun and make my own.

Aamukampa features a simulated comb that one can strum by swiping a finger on it, with sound modeled from a real comb. The app showcases different web technologies like Web Audio API, Application Cache (or offline mode) and Local Storage. It runs as a standalone web app on iOS devices.

Although I initially made the app just for myself, it was an instant hit among those I served with. I still hear from time to time about people using it, so I've put out updates every six months to keep it functional.
